  1. Callaway Gardens - There is no better way to start your trip from New York to Atlanta than making a pit stop at Callaway Gardens. The property is just outside the city and is 1 hour 15 minutes’ drive from the city. The property is a great place if after a long trip, you wish to relax in a spa or engage in various outdoor activities such as hiking, golfing, tree-top zip lining.

  2. Dahlonega’s wineries - The wineries are pretty popular among Atlanta locals so much so that even the pandemic couldn’t make the wineries to close. The journey from New York to Atlanta can become tiring, and nothing comes closer to melting the stress away than a glass of drink. Dahlonega is just an hour and thirty minutes ride away from Atlanta. Do not worry about the tasting charges as they are pretty affordable. Drink responsibly and have a relaxing time at Dahlonega.

  3. Helen - Perched in the heart of mountains of North Georgia, is a Germantown named Helen. We were drawn to the name and found ourselves the perfect spot for out getaway. The Oktoberfest that is organized in the fall is a sight to look at here. The charming weather takes away all the exhaustion of travelling from New York to Atlanta. If you wish to extend your road trip there are a lot of amazing Airbnb options here to stay.

  4. Summerville  - A day trip that takes you back in town. Sounds like a great idea. Doesn’t it. Well Summerville is the place for you. The distance from Atlanta is just 1 hour 30 minutes. In a short drive from Atlanta, you will find yourself surrounded with hills, greens and attractions. Trust us, your journey from New York to Atlanta will be so worth it when you see Summerville’s historic sites and engage in a conversation with the locals.

  5. Stone Mountain - Stone Mountain is just 15 miles away from Atlanta. Imagine stepping out of city limits and getting such a great place for a day trip from New York to Atlanta. What’s so special about this place? Hiking, fishing, golfing, and the firework show they have are the highlights. During winters you can tube down the mountain with your little ones and spend some quality time together.
  6. Lake Lanier - We don’t need to say anything, this man-made lake speaks for itself. After driving all day from New York to Atlanta, dive in (literally) into the lake and refresh your senses. The lake is just 1 hour drive away from Atlanta and is a perfect place to end your day trip. You can even rent a lake house and extend the duration of your trip.

  7. Toccoa Falls - We couldn’t stop ourselves from adding one more water body. The word Toccoa is a Cherokee word, which means beautiful. The falls definitely live up to their name. We would recommend you to bring your hiking shoes and a picnic basket. Pick a wooden spot for yourself and your company and take in the view. The falls are 34 minutes away from Atlanta.
  8. Brasstown Bald - The name is a little fun but the place takes your breath away. We didn’t know mother nature could be so calming and beautiful. If we have to pick one spot to end our New York to Atlanta trip, this would be our top pick. Just two hours and thirty minutes ride from Atlanta can bring you 5000 feet above sea level giving an excellent vantage point. Due to COVID-19 only 60 cars are allowed to park in the parking lot. Make sure to arrive early.

  9. Truett’s Luau - A little pit sop from New York to Atlanta which serves the best tropical chicken nugget and frosted pineapple? Count us in. All Chick-fil-a lovers vouch for this place. Truett’s Luau is located just 28 miles outside the city limits.

  10. Athens, Georgia - We are at the end of the list so we have saved the best for you. Athens is a small quaint town just outside of Atlanta. The town is famous for University of Georgia. You would find a completely different world here thus making your trip from New York to Atlanta a huge hit.
